Hosting a glitzy and glamorous Academy Award Show viewing party can be easy, star-filled, and have your guests starry-eyed with these Tips from Teri.
An important first step in any party planning, but obviously in this case we suggest going with a simple black, gold, and glitter palette.
TERI'S TIP: Use gold spray paint on a vintage thrift store frame. Add a black sheet of paper with a metallic gold Sharpie to write a fun sign!
2. Food & Appetizers
This display is a wonderful opportunity to show your customers the range of products you host in your store. Serve up your best gourmet popcorn in gold paper cones or show off sampler bites and appetizers on gold trays.
TERI'S TIP: Try thinking outside of the box to help push slow products by mixing popular favorites with lesser known items or new products. Fold gold pieces of paper in half as easy nameplates to label products, or buying small gold paper frames like we did gives your display a classic, but cost efficient look.
3. Decorations
Thanks to the limited color palette, it doesn't take much to make this display look glitzy and glamorous. Look for fun ways to set the tone using fun signs, adding gold/glitter where you can, and even including white, clear, or gold balloons with gold ribbon. We're also fans of adding fresh flowers to every display, which is an added bonus and up-sell if your shop sells flowers!
TERI'S TIP: Use gold spray paint or spray adhesive with loose gold glitter to decorate empty boxes. Stack boxes at different levels to create height, then use them to place flowers, signs, or highlight various products.
4. Drinks
Arguably the most important part of a party, make sure you show off your best champagnes, or for a kid/family friendly display, add your best apple ciders or sparkling waters. Buy gold or glitter champagne flutes at the party store. Or to do what we did, take small pieces of gold fabric, twist into a rose shape, and tie off with a gold star garland.
TERI'S TIP: Check out your local thrift stores for ice buckets and bar carts you can spray paint gold.
